Rooted in Dreams is a great romance novel with twists and surprises. Some books I read today seem to take me a while to read. Yes, I’m busy like most people, but I do like to settle into a reading that allows a moment to get away, a kind of brief vacation to another world. Rooted In Dreams did just that, so much so that I read it in no time at all.
Hartz did a great job. Yes, a man wrote this romance that held my interest. His work made me want to know what would happen to his two main characters. The reading goes back and forth from both a man's and a woman’s point of view. The male character had gone through a terrible accident, leaving him, unlike the typical strong, able-bodied Superman many romance stories have. This didn’t diminish his appeal, however, and I liked that. I realized I saw him as strong at the same time with a noble character. The story is set up so that readers are inside both the head of the woman and the man.
This is the first time I’ve read a romance novel written by a man, but will definitely be open to their romance work now, especially Sam Hertz’s work.
